Posted by Pritthish on 07-14-2006 23:33

Electronic Arts announced today that they are working on new versions of the Harry Potter video games for Nintendo's newest video game console, the Wii, "whose selling point is a motion-detecting controller that allows players to simulate swinging a bat, golf club or sword."

The Wii is expected to hit shelves later this year, but a release date has not yet been announced for the games themselves.

Wyred Sisters Ordered to Compensate WB
Posted by Pritthish on 07-04-2006 00:53

Canada.com is reporting that The Canadian band, The Wyrd Sisters, has been ordered to pay Warner Brothers $140,000 in legal fees for the baseless lawsuit they filed against the movie studio last fall in an to have Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire removed from Canadian theatres. From the article:

Already bereft of funds and appealing to fans for donations to pay for its lawsuit, the Wyrd Sisters and its lawyer were taken to task by an Ontario judge for the "highly intrusive" lawsuit and continued criticism of the judiciary in its legal battle. The Juno-nominated Manitoba band, formed by three women in 1990, sued the Hollywood heavyweight in 2005 for $40-million, claiming it appropriated its name. The movie producers had offered the band $50,000 to share the name. The Wyrd Sisters refused, choosing to take the company to court.

Thanks to HPANA for the tip!
